One tap in, one tap out, on a tablet at the door or in the app. Every tap is kept, so the number holds up when someone asks. The count stays private to you, and the night exports to a spreadsheet.

One email: how the week looked at your place. If it was a thin week for reports, it says so. It won’t invent a trend.

There is nowhere on Crowded for a stranger to write about you. No ratings, no comment section, no free text. A report is a crowd level and up to two vibes picked from a list we wrote. Nothing to bomb, nothing to beg for, nobody to reply to.

What’s the catch?
There isn’t a hidden one. Crowded is only useful if the places on it are real and current, and venues that are on board make it both. That is the whole trade. No money moves in either direction.
Will it cost money later?
Partnering is free and there is nothing to buy. If we ever charge venues for anything, it will be for extra tools. The crowd level will never be for sale, to you or to anyone else.
Can you hide it when we’re empty?
No. The switch that hid your empty Tuesday would also let the place next door look full on Friday, and then nobody would believe either number. Empty also happens to be the reading most people are looking for.
Who decides how busy we are?
People standing in your venue. A report only counts from inside a 150 m geofence, in the app, and one person can report a venue once every 30 minutes. When nobody has reported lately, the app shows a prediction for that hour and labels it as one.
We’re not a bar.
Doesn’t matter. Restaurants, cafes, clubs, bakeries, gyms: anywhere people end up waiting. The only places that can’t be claimed are public ones, like parks and plazas, because there’s no owner to hand them to.
Our place isn’t on the map.

Do we need an iPhone?
No. Crowded for Business runs in a browser: a laptop for the numbers, a tablet for the door. It’s also inside the iPhone app. Posting photos is the one thing that needs the app.
Can we stop?
Yes. Release the venue from its page in Crowded for Business and you’re out. Your place stays on the map, like every other place in the city.
